Mersin Metropolitan Municipality continues to work on the Forum Interchange Project, which will be implemented at the intersection of Hüseyin Okan Merzeci Boulevard and 20th Street, where Mersin has the highest traffic density. While some routes are closed to traffic before starting the intersection project, where application work continues on the land, the trees in the project boundaries are moved to different points of the city and planted again.

113 trees are planted in their new places

Parks and Gardens Department teams are carrying out a relocation study to prevent the trees on the route where the intersection will be negatively affected by the works.

55 palm trees and 58 oleander located on the intersection route are first pruned with the careful work of the Park and Gardens Department personnel, then they are taken from where they are with construction machines and planted in different parts of the city.

Transplanted palm and oleander are planted on the newly opened Yaşar Doğu Caddesi in Mezitli district and 136th Street in Akdeniz district.
