Aksaray Deputy Ayhan Erel gave a parliamentary question to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure regarding the construction of the railway.
Stating that the Aksaray - Niğde Ulukışla Çakmak station, which will connect Aksaray to Mersin and Iskenderun, has reached the tender stage, but the tender has been made and the construction has not started. "Do you plan to allocate funds in the 2021 budget by including the Aksaray Çakmak station, which is vital for the Aksaray economy, the project has been completed and is in the tender stage, into the investment plan?" made a parliamentary question.
Erel; “The number of vehicles passing through Aksaray will decrease by around 90 percent with the Ankara-Niğde highway, which will be fully put into service at the end of the year. This situation will adversely affect the economy of Aksaray. By reaching the ports of Aksaray, Mersin and Iskenderun with the opening of the relevant railway, the investments in the organized industry will increase three times. For Aksaray, the railway, which is the door of business, love and hope, should be put into service as soon as possible in this sense ”.
