According to a report released on Friday, October 16, the number of general aviation airports used for civil aviation other than commercial air transport in China reached 296 as of the end of June. The report was announced by the General Aviation sector of the China Air Transport Association at an industry conference in Changchun, the capital of the northeastern Chinese province of Jilin.

China had 2019 general aviation airports registered in 246. This figure exceeded the number of air transport airports for the first time. Moreover, this figure reached 50 with the addition of 296 more airports in the first half of this year.General aviation airports played an important role in the transportation of healthcare workers and equipment during the COVID-19 epidemic period, as well as in targeted disinfection efforts, according to the report.

As of May 18, there were 378 general aviation companies in China that deployed more than a thousand aircraft on 141 missions for the prevention and control of the epidemic. These planes, according to the report, performed 2 disinfection / disinfection tasks in 362 hours of flight time.
