The 1st Section of the Konya Ring Road was put into service on Friday, October 2 with a mass opening ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca, Minister of Environment and Urbanization Murat Kurum, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli, General Director of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu spoke at a ceremony attended by President Erdoğan, Konya City Hospital, Konya Environment Congratulated the contributors, wishing the 1 new houses built in the 1.682st Section of the Road, the Historic Wheat Market and Landscaping, Kayacık Logistics Center and Sarayönü to be beneficial.
Expressing that the part of the Konya Ring Road that is put into service will provide the connection between Konya-Karaman and Konya-Ereğli roads, President Erdoğan stated that the remaining parts of the road will be opened gradually. President Erdoğan also added that Konya's divided road network has reached 18 km with the works carried out in the last 1.185 years.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismailoğlu, stated that they have implemented important highway projects in Konya, and that they are happy to bring a new work to the city by opening the first section of the Konya Ring Road, which is 122 kilometers long and designed in three parts.
Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “The ring road will encircle Konya in a full circle, connect the surrounding provincial roads and inner city roads, and provide fast, safe and comfortable transportation to important tourism and trade centers. With the first section opened today, traffic flow will begin to flow between Ereğli-Karaman axis. said.
After the speeches, the road was presented to the service of the citizens by connecting to General Director of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu and the authorities who were waiting at the ceremony area on the Ring Road to open the 1st Section of Konya Ring Road.
Konya Ring Road; It will raise the standard of the transportation network by relieving the urban and transit traffic of Konya, which is an important transit point between regions and growing day by day. With the opening of the first part of 22 km of the ring road; A total of 1 million TL will be saved annually, 13,3 million TL from time and 8,1 million TL from fuel oil. In addition, with the elimination of waiting due to traffic density, the exhaust emissions of vehicles to the environment will be significantly reduced and a contribution will be made to the national economy.
