MBCC Group will start its operations as of October 1, 2020 as an established company after the acquisition of the former BASF Construction Chemicals business by Lone Star Funds, a global private equity firm. Lone Star ended its commercial transactions with BASF on September 30, 2020, effective from midnight. Lone Star is now the new owner of the business. MBCC Group left the BASF Group in the past 18 months and is now a completely independent organization.

Dr. Jochen Fabritius appointed as CEO
Lone Star Funds, the new owner of the group of companies, appointed Dr. Jochen Fabritius as the new CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of the MBCC Group. Fabritius is a civil engineer who spent almost his entire career in the construction industry after his education. He is a highly experienced specialist in the construction industry. Fabritius, who previously worked at Xella, where he was involved in 2014, served as Operations Director first and then as CEO since 2017. Prior to that, he worked for McKinsey & Company consulting firm for 15 years. Fabritius says of his new role: “I am delighted to have joined MBCC Group, which works closely with a strong global management team, and my goal will be to realize the full potential of the MBCC Group. At this point, let me thank all employees for their hard work and dedication for successfully managing this separation process while adhering to an ambitious timeline despite the negative effects of the global pandemic. "
