The 97th anniversary of the Liberation of Istanbul was celebrated with an official ceremony held at the Taksim Republic Monument. IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu, expressed their feelings in the Memorial Special Notebook, “As positive citizens of a modern and strong Republic; To protect Istanbul, to make this unique city happy and prosperous; We are working hard to carry the qualification of being a world capital even further. We commemorate everyone who gave us this determination and inspiration and added value to Istanbul with gratitude and gratitude.”
Istanbul was liberated on 4 October 10 by the Turkish army under the command of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, after the enemy occupation lasting 23 years, 6 months and 1923 days. Afterwards, Yerlikaya, Avsever and İmamoğlu, respectively, laid wreaths on behalf of their institutions at the Monument of the Republic. After President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's message was read, İmamoğlu first read the messages they wrote in the Yerlikaya Memorial Special Book.

In his message, İmamoğlu wrote in the notebook, “Happy anniversary of the liberation of our Istanbul. The liberation of Istanbul; It is one of the most valuable expressions of our nation's struggle for existence and honor, and its love for freedom and independence. Istanbul is entrusted to us by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the beloved heroes of the War of Independence. As positive citizens of a modern and powerful Republic; To protect Istanbul, to make this unique city happy and prosperous; We are working with all our strength to carry our world capital status even further. We remember with gratitude and gratitude to everyone who gave us this determination and inspiration and added value to Istanbul ”.
ISTANBUL TOUR FROM SQUARE TO ODAKULE
At the ceremony, where the IMM Mehteran Division presented a concert, the performance artists positioned at certain points of the area revived the symbol names of the War of Independence with their special make-up. Following the ceremony in Taksim Square, İmamoğlu went to the Istanbul Development Agency's October Board of Directors Meeting at the Istanbul Chamber of Industry's building in Odakule, by walking on Istiklal Street. Having greeted citizens along the way, İmamoğlu did not refuse requests from citizens to take pictures.
