Final signatures have been signed for the purchase of 73 new environmentally friendly buses at Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department. Head of Transportation Department Ersan Topçuoğlu drew attention to the fact that the new buses brought to Mersin run on natural gas. KARSAN officials, who won the tender by offering the most suitable offer, stated that the buses will be delivered to Mersin Metropolitan Municipality within 7 months at the latest, and they plan to deliver 12-meter-long vehicles at the first stage.
Buses will be the first in Çukurova Region
The last step of the purchase of 73 new buses announced by Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer was completed with the signatures. President Seçer pointed out that the new buses to be purchased have CNG fuel consumption and are environmentally friendly. Head of Transportation Department Ersan Topçuoğlu on behalf of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality and Karsan Otomotiv Sanayii ve Ticaret A.Ş. Sales Manager Adem Ali Metin made the final signatures and wished good luck for the people of Mersin. A total of 12 buses, including 63 buses with a length of 18 meters and 10 buses with a length of 73 meters, will be put into service for the people of Mersin in the coming months. The new buses will be the first in Mersin and the Çukurova Region with natural gas fuel consumption.

Head of the Transportation Department Ersan Topçuoğlu stated that many sectors, including the transportation sector, have had troublesome days due to the coronavirus epidemic. Emphasizing that the demands in the field of transportation in Mersin are increasing every day, Topçuoğlu said:
“We knew the importance of our users to be able to benefit from public transportation systems in a fast, economical and comfortable way, and our efforts in this direction have increased since we came. Accordingly, we have completed our preparations for the purchase of environmentally friendly buses in order to improve public transportation in order to meet the needs of our people immediately, and we started our tender. As a result, we have brought our 73 environmentally friendly CNG buses to our people in Mersin as of today. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this process, especially our Metropolitan Mayor Vahap Seçer. I hope our environmentally friendly buses will be beneficial to the people of Mersin. "
"We deliver our vehicles before 7 months"
Karsan Automotive Industry and Trade Inc. Turkey Sales Director Adem Ali stressed that the text Karsan serving for 54 years in the automotive sector production made entirely national capital. Stating that the company produces vehicles with different fuel consumption, including diesel, natural gas and electric, Metin noted that they submitted the most suitable bid for the tender held by the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality. We cannot say anything clear about what the pandemic will bring for the coming days. But if we go under the current conditions, we will deliver our vehicles before 7 months. "We will give priority to the 12 meters in the number of deliveries," he said.
