The U-22 European Beach Volleyball Championship in Selçuk ended with the exciting final matches. Making its mark on the championship, Russia was the party that reached the trophies in women and men. The awards of the champions were given by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and Turkey Volleyball Federation jointly organized by the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) U-22 European Beach Volleyball Championship for men and women in Russia had reached a happy ending.
Russia's Maria Voronina / Marija Bocharova became the first finalist, beating Esmee Böbner / Mara Betschart from Switzerland 2-0 in the first match of the women's semi-finals. In the other semi-final match, Anastasila Frolova / Aleksandra Ganenko (Russia), who faced Sofila Rylova / Yeva Serduk (Ukraine) and won the match 2-0, advanced to the final. In the final match, two teams of Russia, Anastasila Frolova / Aleksandra Ganenko, defeated Maria Voronina / Marija Bocharova 2-0 and reached the gold medal. Esmee Böbner / Mara Betschart (Switzerland), who beats Sofila Rylova / Yeva Serduk (Ukraine) 2-1, took the third place.
Poland-Russia final in men's
Milosz Kruk / Mikolaj Miszczuk (Poland), who defeated Mio Wüst / Rudy Schneider from Germany 2-1 in the first match of the men's semi-finals, got his name in the final. In the second semi-final match, Russia's Nikolay Chukhnenkov / Nikita Evert beat the German duo Lukas Pfretzschner / Robin Sowa 2-0. Russia's Nikolay Chukhnenkov / Nikita Evert became the champion in the final match, beating Milosz Kruk / Mikolaj Miszczuk (Poland) with 2-0. Two teams from Germany played the match for third place. After beating Lukas Pfretzschner / Robin Sowa 2-0, Mio Wüst / Rudy Schneider took third place.
Championship cup from President Soyer
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer and Volleyball Federation Deputy Chairman Alper Sedat Aslandaş gave Russia the championship cup and gold medals. Second men's silver medals and cups were given to Poland by Deputy Secretary General Ertuğrul Tugay and İzmir Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate of Sports Branch Deputy Director Enver Yılmaz, while Selçuk Mayor Filiz Ceritoğlu Sengel presented the cup. Germany, the third in men's place, gave the bronze medals to İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Department Head Hakan Orhunbilge and Çelik Group CEO Ali Çelik, and the cup was presented by Deputy Secretary General Ertuğrul Tugay. Women in the gold medal by the Russian championship trophy on the podium İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer with Turkey Volleyball Federation Vice President Sadat gave Alper Aslandaş.
Selçuk Municipality Mayor Filiz Ceritoğlu Sengel and Beach It Beach Sports Organization CEO Gürsel Yeşiltaş presented Russia's trophies and medals.
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Club President Ersan Odaman and CEV Beach Volleyball Commissioner and Technical Delegate Bojana Bogicevic gave Switzerland the third place medals, and İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Eser Atak.
