Mustafa Tunç Soyer (born in 1959, Ankara), Turkish lawyer and politician. Soyer, who is still the head of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality of the Republican People's Party, assumed the mayor of Seferihisar between 2009-2019.
His life and career
Tunç Soyer was born in Ankara in 1959 as the son of Nurettin Soyer and Güneş Soyer. He lived in Izmir since his childhood. He graduated from Bornova Anatolian High School and Ankara University Faculty of Law. He completed two master's degrees, one in "International Relations" at Webster University in Switzerland, and the other in "European Union" at Dokuz Eylül University.
In 2003, he presented his report on the financial resources that could be provided to Izmir from the European Union to the then Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Piriştina and accepted Piriştina's proposal and started to work as the Mayor's advisor to the Metropolitan Municipality. Between 2004-2006, he worked as foreign relations manager and assistant general secretary at Izmir Chamber of Commerce. In 2006, he was appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the General Secretary of the EXPO 2015 Izmir Steering Committee and the Executive Committee. He was elected Mayor of Seferihisar from the Republican People's Party in 2009 and 2014. 2019 Turkey's local elections, the CHP İzmir Metropolitan Municipality participated as a presidential candidate and began his career on April 58, 8 elected president been 2019%.
