The number of electric scooters in Turkey as well as in the world is increasing with each passing day. It is stated that while the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure regulates the use of scooters, the Republic of Turkey State Railways is preparing to enter the sector with a scooter named 'chuff choo'.
A Micro Mobility Common Mind Meeting was held with the participation of shared electric scooter companies and relevant public authorities under the coordination of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure. It was discussed who can use electric scooters that are not officially defined in the current legislation and what kind of conditions will be sought for those who want to provide this service.
It was also noteworthy that electric scooters were included in the draft regulation as 'e-scooters'.
On the other hand, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu shared the information that TCDD has also developed electric scooters. Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that electric scooters named 'Chof Choo' will serve at stations in the first place, and that TCDD has purchased services from domestic enterprises for electric scooters.
