Nakanihon Air, one of Japan's largest helicopter operators, ordered an H215 heavy helicopter to increase its capacity in public service and air operations.

“We look forward to receiving the H215, Airbus' mission-proven helicopter to support our wide-ranging operations in Japan,” said Taku Shibata, Chairman of Nakanihon Air. “We believe that the H215 offers the enhanced precision and stability we need, which will not only increase mission readiness, but also improve our fleet capacity. We are delighted to take this partnership with the Airbus Helicopters team in Japan one step further, understanding our needs and supporting our operations for many years. ” said.

Nakanihon Air, which currently owns 45 Airbus helicopters, specializes in activities in Japan, including emergency medical services, electronic news gathering, and passenger and goods transportation. The air services company also operates an Airbus-approved maintenance center for H135 helicopters, and general inspections of the operator's existing Super Puma fleet are carried out at the manufacturer's Kobe maintenance facility.

Guillaume Leprince, Managing Director of Airbus Helicopters in Japan, “We are delighted to support Nakanihon Air's growing business. “With this first order for H215, we thank you very much for showing their confidence in our long-term relationship,” he said. “The H215 helicopter, the 4-axis bidirectional digital autopilot system in the glass cockpit, alleviates the workload of the crew while providing improved mission efficiency and safety. We are confident that the H215 will be valuable to Nakanihon Air and deliver the excellent performance they have come to expect. ” said.

The twin-engine, heavy-duty helicopter H215 is a member of the Super Puma helicopter family known for its high availability, performance and competitive operating cost. Equipped with the latest technologies, the helicopter consists of two versions, one designed for multi-functional operations and the other designed for air and public service tasks.

Currently, 28 helicopters of the Super Puma family are used in Japan by civil operators, parapublic operators and the Ministry of Defense for various search and rescue missions, coast guard operations and firefighting, as well as Private and Commercial Aviation and commercial air transport missions.
