Nakanihon Air, one of Japan's largest helicopter operators, ordered an H215 heavy helicopter to increase its capacity in public service and air operations.

Nakanihon Air, which currently owns 45 Airbus helicopters, specializes in activities in Japan, including emergency medical services, electronic news gathering, and passenger and goods transportation. The air services company also operates an Airbus-approved maintenance center for H135 helicopters, and general inspections of the operator's existing Super Puma fleet are carried out at the manufacturer's Kobe maintenance facility.

The twin-engine, heavy-duty helicopter H215 is a member of the Super Puma helicopter family known for its high availability, performance and competitive operating cost. Equipped with the latest technologies, the helicopter consists of two versions, one designed for multi-functional operations and the other designed for air and public service tasks.
Currently, 28 helicopters of the Super Puma family are used in Japan by civil operators, parapublic operators and the Ministry of Defense for various search and rescue missions, coast guard operations and firefighting, as well as Private and Commercial Aviation and commercial air transport missions.
