Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, which has implemented various practices in order to support alternative sustainable urban transportation modes within the scope of the European Mobility Week, is preparing to bring a new bicycle-themed park to Eskişehir. Going to the park area and exchanging views with non-governmental organizations, the Metropolitan Municipality officials stated that they will bring a beautiful park on the edge of the Porsuk Stream to Eskişehir.

Continuing its efforts to make Eskişehir a greener city in the city center, the Metropolitan Municipality announced that a bicycle-themed park will be added to the city as part of the European Mobility Week. There will be a cafeteria where cyclists can take free or group breaks and seating areas in the park, which will be built in the Sümer District on the edge of the Porsuk Stream, where there are bicycle and walking paths. Officials of the Park and Gardens Department, who went to the area related to the park and gave information to non-governmental organizations, said, “Our park consists of an area of ​​3 thousand 100 square meters and 2 thousand 200 square meters of it is green areas. Our aim is to create a thematic area where cyclists can take a break in this park located on the bicycle path. We will try self-table bicycle bench units for the first time in this park where you can spend time sitting on your bikes without parking them. In addition, you will be able to take long-term breaks in wooden seating areas, ”they stated that in line with the suggestions and demands of cyclists, bicycle repair-maintenance units and a short training course will be planned in the area.

Stating that the Sümer and Osmangazi bicycle track is an important bicycle route in Eskişehir, the cyclists expressed their great pleasure that a thematic park on bicycle will be built in this area. Stating that they believe that the Metropolitan Municipality will implement important practices and studies on bicycle transportation, the cyclists stated that they trust Mayor Büyükerşen in this regard.
