A statement came from the AK Party Trabzon Deputy Salkih Cora for the recent debates on the railway between Erzincan and Trabzon, which were shifted to Rize.
Cora stated that they met with the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismailoğlu, and that it was out of the question to shift the railway to another location.
Here are the statements of Salih Cora:
Trabzon Railway project was promised to our city by our Prime Minister Binali YILDIRIM and our President Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN and passed many stages.
In 2011, field projects related to the route were carried out with the contributions of our MPs and Gümüşhane MPs. 1/50 thousand maps were issued and completed in 2014 and delivered to the state railways. In 2018, with the great effort of our deputies, the study project of this place was tendered with the name of Trabzon Erzincan railway. At the end of the tender, a contract was signed with the ministry and the work was delivered to the contractor firm. The project work continues.
Last week, we met with our Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismailoğlu. We also met with ministry bureaucrats. Trabzon Erzincan Railway is neither shelved nor in the limbo. Trabzon Erzincan Railway project work continues at full speed. Hopefully, we will bring the railway to our city, and we will connect the important and strategic points of our region with the railway.
