Ministry's' 2020-2023 National Smart Cities Strategy and Kayseri is located in the Action Plan for Metropolitan, with transport 'Smart Intersection', while in the energy field 'Sustainable Energy Action Plan' with examples of smart city applications in Turkey.
Thanks to the "Smart Intersection" application implemented by the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, automatic counts are made with the sensors placed at the intersections and the superiority of the passage to the road with more vehicles is automatically determined. In this way, unnecessary waiting times during crossings with high number of vehicles are avoided, the traffic density is reduced and the fuel saving of vehicles is contributed, and the greenhouse gas emission rate of the vehicles in the city is minimized.
EFFICIENT ENERGY USE WITH A SUSTAINABLE ENERGY ACTION PLAN
With the 'Sustainable Energy Action Plan', Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality plans to encourage citizens to use energy efficiency and renewable energy resources, and thus aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Kayseri Transportation Inc., affiliated with the Metropolitan, continues its activities with many projects focused on Smart City and Smart Transportation themes within the R&D Center, which started its activities as of November 1, 2018 with the approval of the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Project teams; It serves Kayseri and the sector in the subjects of Rail Systems and Equipment, Signalization and Magnetic Sensors, Electronic Inspection Systems (EDS) Focused Image Processing and Radar Technologies, Transportation Oriented Optimization Models and Applications, Geographic Software, Urban Intelligent Information Systems. In Kayseri Metropolitan, transportation related projects such as Kaniş Intersection Controller and Adaptive Intersection, Magnetic Intelligent Transportation Sensor (MAUS), Kayseri Intelligent Public Transportation System (KAKTUS), Kayseri Transportation Mobile Application, Smart Signboards and Stops, City Parking Density Information Signs has been put into practice.
