TCDD Tasimacilik reached an agreement with Siemens from Germany to supply 2018 High Speed ​​Train (YHT) sets in 12. Ordered from Siemens High Speed ​​Train sets of 12, 8 of them were handed over to Turkey on September 2. The trains, of which all trial and registration studies were completed, were commissioned by TCDD General Directorate of Transport.

The sets that have been put into service after trial and registration studies have been completed will provide a significant capacity increase. while the other four train sets gradually starting from 4 October 5 until February 2020 scheduled to be delivered to Turkey.

High speed train sets, consisting of a total of 8 wagons and 200 meters in length, can speed 300 kilometers. The high-speed train sets, which have a total capacity of 45 passengers, including 3 business (12 busines loca 436 people capacity) and 483 economies, have 2 handicapped seats. considering passenger demand in Turkey, the number of mobile phones in cars with seats and tables in the cafeteria and computer charger socket sets in new YHT numbers were increased. The programs in the music and cinema-oriented “entertainment system” were also prepared for the passengers in an enriched way.

High-speed trains, which carried 23 thousand passengers per day before the coronavirus epidemic, are expected to carry over 2021 thousand passengers in 40. In addition, with the participation of 12 YHT sets, express flights will be organized on long-distance routes, thus the travel time between Ankara-Istanbul and Konya-Istanbul will be reduced by 30 minutes.
