8th Bosphorus Film Festival's National Competition and Bosphorus Film Lab Applications Extended!

The application period has been extended for the national feature-length, national short fiction and documentary competitions of the 8th Bosphorus Film Festival and the Bosphorus Film Lab, the industry section of the festival. The deadline for the festival's competition and Bosphorus Film Lab applications is set as September 11th.

Applications for the National Competition and Bosphorus Film Lab for the 23th Bosphorus Film Festival, which will be organized by the Boğaziçi Foundation for Culture and Arts between October 30 - 8, will continue until September 11.

With the contributions of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Directorate of Cinema, with the support of Global Communication Partner Anadolu Agency; With the national feature-length, national short fiction and documentary competitions of the 23th Bosphorus Film Festival, which will be organized by the Boğaziçi Culture and Arts Foundation between October 30 and 8 this year, the application period has been extended for the industry section of the festival, Bosphorus Film Lab. The deadline for the festival's competition and Bosphorus Film Lab applications is set as September 11th.

Best National Feature Film Award: 100.000 TL

One of the films to be included in the 8th Bosphorus Film Festival's National Feature Film Competition will win the Best National Feature Film Award of 100.000 TL. Awards will also be distributed in the categories of Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Editing. In addition to the category awards, the Film Producers Professional Association (FİYAB) will be awarded the FİYAB Best Producer Award of 10.000 TL in order to support the producers who successfully carry out all the processes of their first or second films and independent cinema.

Support for Short Filmmakers Continues This Year

Continuing its support for short films since the first year of the festival, it will continue in two different competitive categories: National Short Fiction Film and National Short Documentary Film. In the National Short Fiction Film Competition where fictional, animation and experimental films will compete, the best film will win a 10.000 TL award. At the festival, a film extends to the Istanbul Media Academy Young Talent Award of 5.000 TL awarded by the Istanbul Media Academy to support young short filmmakers, while the best film will be awarded 10.000 TL in the National Short Documentary Film Competition. All films in the short competitions of the festival will also be nominated for the 25.000 TL Ahmet Uluçay Grand Prize.

Bosphorus Film Lab Support for Young Producers and Directors' Projects

TRT held by institutional partnerships and Turkey to contribute to the development of films in the cinema, young filmmakers and the production of new films of director material and may participate in the actual Bosphorus Film Lab productions or film projects at the idea stage to create moral support. A project competing in the Pitching Platform will receive the TRT Co-Production Award, while another project will receive the Postbıyık Color Editing Award. Projects within the scope of Work in Progress will also make presentations for the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism Special Award of 25.000 TL and CGV Mars Distribution Award.

Application Deadline for First Cut Lab is October 1

The applications of First Cut Lab, which will be held for the second time this year within the industry section of the festival, Bosphorus Film Lab, will end on 1 October. In many international film festivals since 2015; First Cut Lab, which is a workshop program designed for the development of projects whose first edits or rough edits have been completed, will be selected this year for two projects that are in the editing phase. The producer and director of two feature fiction films to be selected will have the opportunity to work on their films with international consultants.
