Minister Karaismailoğlu Met with the Representatives of the Maritime Sector

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu visited Istanbul and Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean, Black Sea Regions Chamber of Shipping IMEAK and held a meeting with the members of the board of directors regarding the current and future targets of the maritime sector. At the meeting, views were exchanged on the development of the maritime sector and increasing the share of Turkish-owned ships in maritime transport, determining the service items in coastal facilities, draft regulation for ship and yacht agencies, location problems of yacht building and sub-industry and yacht repair maintenance businesses, as well as the development of maritime training. Speaking at the meeting, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “The problems of the sector are our problems. We are working heartily for the development of the sector. “We will be the leading country in our region in maritime”.

In his speech at the meeting, Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that the maritime sector in our country has reached a significant level with the investments, support and projects made in the last 18 years. Karaismailoğlu stated that, as the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, they came together with sector representatives to develop maritime and carry it to a much higher level, and said, “We act in line with the interests of our country in every investment we make in the sector. As the ministry, we work in common with the sector representatives to develop and move the maritime sector to a much higher level. We see the problems of the sector as our problems. "We are working hard to bring our Blue Homeland to the places it deserves, to increase the contribution of our seas to the country's economy and to develop the sector."

The support we give to the sector has started to bear fruit

Minister Karaismailoğlu pointed out that our seas provide great opportunities in terms of transportation, trade, tourism and natural resources in our country, which is surrounded by seas on three sides, and said, “The support we give to our sector from our shipyards to our ports, from our beaches to our open seas started to bear fruit. We need to make more use of the high added value opportunities offered by our seas. “We continue to produce and develop with this real action”.
