Natural resources continue to disappear rapidly. While research shows that most of the global energy is derived from fossil fuels, interest in the use of natural resources such as solar and wind, which are renewable energy sources, continues to increase.

Energy production in our country is mainly made from sources that cause environmental pollution. Despite this, a considerable part of the electricity installed power continues to be composed of domestic and environmentally friendly renewable resources. Renewable energy resources, which have become popular recently, are ready to enter our lives with the name of 'Green tariff'. According to the latest regulation, authorized companies can create green energy tariffs and offer consumers only the energy produced by green and domestic energy sources with low carbon emission. Çağada Kırım, the founder of the electricity tariffs comparison and supplier switching website encazip.com, said that although the 'green tariff' is relatively more expensive, it is also an important move in localizing energy resources.

Although energy resources obtained from fossil resources continue to exist strongly, due to the possibility of depletion of their reserves in the long term and the negativity of general approaches to this type of energy resources, in energy production; Interest in natural resources such as sun, water and wind is increasing day by day.

"Green energy", which refers to the type of energy produced in an environmentally friendly manner, creates different costs according to the type of production. In addition to its environmental awareness, “green energy” is also important for the localization of energy resources.

Green, renewable energy resources in our country cover approximately 40 percent of the total electricity generation. The largest energy production is made using natural gas resources, almost all of which are imported. A large part of green energy production is provided by hydraulic (water power) resources, and with the increasing government incentives in recent years, the use of wind energy continues to increase.

Will increase by 2024 percent in 50

According to the "Renewable Energy 2019" report of the International Energy Agency (IEA), it is predicted that the global renewable energy capacity will increase by 2019 percent in the 2024-50 period to 3 thousand 721 gigaWatt. In this period, 200 gigaWatt capacity will be added to the world's renewable energy installed power. 2024 year compared to last year projected to increase by 50 percent renewable energy sources in Turkey, this increase with a maximum of renewable energy capacity in Europe is estimated to be one of the five countries.

Supplier companies can create a green energy tariff

Today, if no green tariff selection is made, it is assumed that electricity is supplied from our country's electricity pool. Looking at the last year, it is seen that 42,1 percent of the licensed electricity consumed was generated from renewable sources.

With the latest regulations, "authorized supplier companies" can create green energy tariffs and offer consumers only the energy produced with green and local energy resources with low carbon emission. According to the regulation, electricity suppliers must state on their websites how much of the electricity they sold each year in the previous year was provided by purchases made from power plants using renewable energy sources. Thus, consumers can foresee how “green” the electricity suppliers they choose are and make their choices accordingly.

Detailed regulation should be made for the green tariff

According to the latest legislative changes, consumers will now be able to request that their electricity is only from renewable sources. According to the announced tariffs, the green tariff active energy unit price was determined as 0,70 TL. While non-green tariffs are 0,36 TL for homes, the consumer will pay 70 percent more in the total bottom bill. While the national tariff of the business house is 0,54 TL, the consumer bottom is 23 percent more and the free market is 0,45 TL, while the consumer will pay 43 percent more if he chooses a green tariff instead of changing suppliers.

Çağada Kırım, founder of electricity tariffs comparison and supplier switching website encazip.com, says: “In order for green energy tariffs to be truly environmentally friendly, all paper transactions such as contracts, meter reading notifications, invoices should be prohibited from being on paper with a legal regulation and companies Only in this way should it be able to supply consumers with electricity at a green certified tariff. For this, it is essential to make a detailed arrangement and determine the full scope of green tariffs. " says
