The Social Market, which was established under the leadership of Gaziemir Municipality with the contributions of the Aegean Free Zone (ESBAŞ) Executive Board, Volunteer Women's Association, donors and businesses in the district, was opened with a ceremony in order to support citizens experiencing economic difficulties. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor attended the ceremony. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Social Market established in Atıfbey Mahallesi, ESBAŞ CEO and Executive Board Chairman Faruk Güler said that Gaziemir Municipality has completed an important service that will add value to the district and touch the lives of citizens. Güler stated that they opened an exemplary facility in terms of social solidarity when they passed a great test in terms of social solidarity. Pointing out that the society helped each other much more especially when the coronavirus epidemic started, Faruk Güler said, “I would like to express that we are proud to contribute to the realization of such a project as ESBAŞ. Gaziemir Mayor Halil Arda started his speech by stating that he was very excited, proud and happy. Noting that Social Market is a dream project, Halil Arda said that he saw similar examples in his travels abroad before he was the mayor and realized that this was not in Gaziemir. Arda said, “Implementing this project was one of my biggest goals. The process took a little longer. The period we went through with the pandemic process showed how important this project is and that it is a grounded project. Many projects such as Social Market were tried to be implemented in the country. This is a different project. For the first time, it is a project that has no price on the products, has scoring and will benefit those who need it by buying one for each product. This pandemic process we lived through showed how strong the people of Izmir were in the spirit of solidarity and solidarity. I thank our Tunç President. I thank Neptune lady. Tunç Soyerannounced that they have started the ground survey for Gaziemir-Karabağlar Metro. Reminding that the route will be determined at the end of these studies, Mayor Soyer said that this will be announced to the people of Gaziemir a few months later in a meeting with broad participation.
After the speeches, President Soyer gave a plaque of appreciation to Deniz Arda, the President of Gaziemir Volunteer Women's Association, for his contribution to the Social Market. The market was put into service with ribbon cutting.
There is no money in this market
In addition to dry food, cleaning products and clothing, there are also some basic necessities in the Social Market. The families determined by Gaziemir Municipality Social Assistance Affairs Directorate will be able to shop at the market thanks to the cards they will receive. Anyone can provide support or donate to the market where money is not used.
