Chinese airline Air China has restarted flights connecting Chengdu, the capital of southwest China's Sichuan province, with Frankfurt, Germany. The flight in question was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This is the first flight line between western China and Europe to be restarted in accordance with the 'reward and punitive stop' mechanism introduced by the Chinese Civil Aviation Authority.
Wu Shijie, Deputy Head of China's Civil Aviation Security Division, reported that his country has resumed regular flights to destinations in 20 foreign countries. In July, according to the statistics of the Civil Aviation Department, China made a total of 370 flights, reaching an average of 11 flights per day.
The first of the flights to Europe with the Airbus A330-200 every Thursday was made to Frankfurt on this Thursday at 12.35:14.
