Alstom commissioned part of the Cairo Metro line 3 - phase 4 after completing the test of 10 stations in total from Heliopolis to Adly Mansour. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly and Transport Minister Kamel El Wazir, Head of NAT (Egyptian Railway Authority) Dr. Essam Wally and Alstom Egypt Project Manager Mena AZER attended the opening ceremony.

In 2015, an agreement was signed with the Consortium led by the Egyptian railway authority NAT and Alstom for the construction works of the fourth phase of the Cairo Metro third line. G3 Traction Supply Consortium, working within the scope of the same project, signed a contract with Alstom. Alstom, which has an important place in the project with traction, lighting and other electro-mechanical works added to this contract, which includes signalization system and subsystem designs, manufacturing, assembly, testing and commissioning, training and maintenance works, was established in November 2017 as Orascom's Egypt partner. Initiative and as the main contractor for Ph4b, the Arab contractor had further expanded the scope of its business to Alstom with the Cairo Metro line 3, additional 4 Stations and the main Depot (Adly Mansour).

“Today Alstom has delivered 10 metro stations equipped with Urbalis signaling solution within the framework of the Cairo Metro line 3 phase 4 project and has always fulfilled its commitment to better service and meeting the customer expectations. "Despite the worldwide pandemic crisis, our teams continued to be engaged at the same level and managed to deliver under the safest conditions," said Mohamed Khalil, Alstom Egypt General Manager.
