İbrahim Tatlıses (born January 1, 1952, Şanlıurfa), or real name İbrahim Tatlı, Turkish singer, composer, producer, actor, television programmer, businessman. Apart from his music career, İbrahim Tatlıses also made various investments in the food, construction and search and rescue sectors. Tatlıses, who became famous with the Kundura song on his feet, has released more than thirty albums, acted as an actor and director in many films and has been the host of the İbo Show for 19 years. Childhood and the discovery of his voice
He was born in 1952 in Urfa - in a cave, as he says - the eldest of seven children of liver chef Ahmet Tatlı and his wife Leyla. İbrahim Tatlıses's father is Arab and his mother is of Kurdish origin. He was a cold iron master in construction. It was discovered by a filmmaker from Adana while singing in construction. At first, he came to Adana and then to Ankara, where he took the stage in casinos and pavilions. He moved to Istanbul towards the mid 70's and started to take the stage here. Here he met the musician Yılmaz Tatlıses, who gave him his last name.
Music career
He entered the world of music with "Black Girl" and "Don't Burn Me, Come I Love". He received his diploma from the primary school he graduated from outside on 45 June 30 from Kartalbey Primary School in Kilis. He entered the cinema industry in 1976 with the movie Kundura-Ceylan on His Foot. In 1978, he starred in the film Black Writing with Perihan Savaş. In 1979, he played with Derya Tuna in the movie Sinah. He founded İdobay Müzik in 1983. In the 1987's its reputation expanded to Greece and the Middle East. Business life
İbrahim Tatlıses, besides his music career, has made various investments by entering the food, construction and travel sectors. One of these, “Tatlıses Çiğköfte” is still operating. Tatlıses TV is the music channel of İbrahim Tatlıses. Afterwards, he left Türksat. Broadcasting place and studios are in Seyrantepe. He landed on Türksat satellite with his own Uplink. Tatlıses TV broadcasts mainly on Turkish music, as well as programs such as news, magazines, city guides, talk shows, and politics. It broadcast from D-Smart platform and Türksat 2A satellite. He made Digiturk, Cable TV and terrestrial broadcasts for a while. It ended its broadcasting life on September 5, 2014 due to the inability to pay its debts.
Political life
Ibrahim Tatlises; In the parliamentary elections held on 22 July 2007, he became the İstanbul 3rd Region 1st ordinary parliamentary candidate from the Genç Parti, and could not be elected as a deputy when his party failed to pass the threshold.
Carols 2011, Turkey was found in the Justice and Development Party candidacy application before the general election but was not nominated by this party. İbrahim Tatlıses became an independent candidate for parliament from Şanlıurfa in these elections, but later withdrew his candidacy.
In the 2015 elections, İbrahim Tatlıses applied for a candidacy for a deputy candidate from his hometown Şanlıurfa to the AK Party, but could not be elected.
İbrahim Tatlıses made an application from the AK Party to become a parliamentary candidate for the elections to be held on June 24, 2018, but was not nominated again. It was learned from Izmir that AK Party refused to be nominated 2th from the parliamentary candidate list and therefore it was not a candidate. [7] Thus, in his political life, he made four attempts for parliamentary candidacy in total.
Kurdish issue
In the 1980s the government banned the use of Kurdish; He sang Kurdish folk songs at a concert in Sweden in December 1986 and was thus tried for making separatist propaganda, but was not found guilty in 1987. After showing remorse, the charge was denied. In 1988, businessman Mehmet Yılmaz was asked to sing a Kurdish folk song at a cultural festival in Uşak, but he refused, saying I am a Kurd but the law prohibits me to sing in Kurdish. He was charged for this on September 19, 1988.
In 1994, there was evidence of Turkish guerrilla organizations targeting Kurdish businessmen, including Ibrahim Tatlises, Idris Ozbir, Halis Toprak and Necdet Ulucan. In 1998, Tatlıses reportedly offered to be an intermediary between the government and the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) during an armed conflict. He recorded an album with Iranian Kurdish musician Abdollah Alijani Ardeshir.
In 2018, he supported the Operation Olive Branch against the People's Protection Units (YPG) in Afrin.
marriages
İbrahim Tatlıses made his first marriage with Adalet Durak in Urfa. The couple had three children. His relationship began with Perihan Savaş, whom he met in 1979 in the film Black Writing. She had a daughter named Melek Zübeyde from her marriage to Savaş. The news published in the newspapers dated 9 August 1984 stated the following: “Perihan Savas, the film actress, who claimed that she was beaten for seven hours after being kidnapped by İbrahim Tatlıses, applied to the prosecutor's office that Tatlıses was mentally ill and asked for her arrest. It was seen that Savaş's eye was black and his left eyebrow was burst. Tatlıses said, “War is the mother of my child. I could not make me proud as a man to walk around right and left ”. The war ended his relationship with Tatlıses afterwards. He had a son named “Ido” (Ibrahim) from his relationship with Derya Tuna, whom he met in 1983 while filming Sinah.
İbrahim Tatlıses married Ayşegül Yıldız in the hospital on September 27, 2011. While the Mayor of Şişli, Mustafa Sarıgül, performed the wedding of the couple, Fatih Terim was the witness of the marriage. Divorced with Ayşegül Yıldız on 29 November 2013. İbrahim Tatlıses has a daughter named Elif Ada from his marriage to Ayşegül Yıldız.

Armed attack and treatment process
He was wounded in the head as a result of gunfire with a long-barreled gun in Maslak during the Ibo Show program broadcast on Beyaz TV on the night of 14 March 2011. Tatlıses, who was subsequently taken to the hospital, was connected to the intensive care unit as a result of the 6-hour surgery. The official statement made by the doctors was as follows; “The artist's life is in danger, but less so than where we started.” Damla Buket Çakıcı, assistant of İbrahim Tatlıses, was also injured in the attack. A wide-ranging investigation was initiated about the attack, which was learned to have been made from a gray Fiat Linea brand car, and as of March 16, 2011, the vehicle was found. The number one suspect of the assassination, Abdullah Uçmak, has been caught.
The artist, who stayed in the intensive care unit at Acıbadem Maslak Hospital for two weeks, was taken out of the intensive care unit on March 28, 2011, according to the statement made by his doctors, thus his life-threatening situation was removed. As of April 6, 2011, his family took Tatlıses to Germany by plane belonging to the Republic of Turkey, with the desire to continue the treatments in Germany. In the following years, medical brain surgery was performed by American neurosurgeons, who are among the best in the world, in Miami, Florida, United States.
