Kocaeli Smart Bicycle System "KOBİS" project, which was put into operation by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality in 2014, serves in 12 districts. Consisting of 71 smart bicycles at 520 stations, KOBİS is regularly disinfected due to the pandemic process.
ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE
The Kocaeli Smart Bicycle System "KOBİS", which was established to facilitate urban access, to create intermediate facilities that feed public transport systems, and to encourage the use of an environmental and sustainable transportation vehicle, started its service in 2014. KOBİS, which has been used for 6 years, has become the most preferred means of transportation after the pandemic process.
MEASURES TAKEN FOR SME
Providing service with 71 stations, 864 smart parking units and 520 smart bicycles, KOBİS has 140 thousand members. All necessary measures have been taken since the first day of normalization steps for bicycles to protect the health of citizens and due to the pandemic process.
IT IS DISINFECTED EVERYDAY
KOBİS stations, which serve by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department, are regularly disinfected by teams to protect citizens' health and disease. In addition to stations, bicycles are disinfected periodically for citizens.
DISINFECTED ON REPAIRED BICYCLES
The bicycles repaired in the Bicycle and Station Maintenance and Repair Workshop established by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department are also disinfected. Bicycles, stations and smart parking units repaired in the workshop are also disinfected before being sent to their places.
