Izmir International Fair Will Open Between September 9-13

Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer, after meeting with Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan in Ankara, announced that the Izmir International Fair will be opened in Kültürpark between 9-13 September in accordance with the pandemic rules.

Due to the pandemic affecting the world, the question of whether the Izmir International Fair (IEF) will be opened this year has been answered. Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer He had a critical meeting with the Minister of Commerce Ruhsar Pekcan in Ankara, as all fair organizations were canceled until 1 September and it was not clear what course to follow afterwards. President Soyer announced that the 89th Izmir International Fair will be held between 9-13 September as planned after the meeting. Stating that Minister Pekcan gave the good news that fairs can be held indoors as of September 1, President Soyer stated that the question marks on the IEF were lifted. President Soyer said, “IEF could not be held only in 1942 because of the Second World War. In that year, Kültürpark festivals were held between August 2 and September 20. Due to the danger of the epidemic, this year the fair will open its doors on September 20 at Kültürpark with health measures. IEF will continue to contribute to the economy of Izmir with the necessary regulations and rules. We are starting the Mediterranean theme with limited events this year, and the Mediterranean theme will continue for IEF next year. 9 will turn into a very strong Mediterranean event and fair with the 2021th IEF Mediterranean Theme.”

International Izmir business days
