CHP Istanbul Deputy Att. Mahmut Tanal brought the allegations of mistakes and negligence to the agenda of the Assembly, in which two freight trains collided head-on in Malatya in June.
Speaking at the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Tanal claimed that the accident occurred due to the train that corrected the malfunction in Malatya center and the train in Battalgazi without knowing each other.
Sharing the information he gained regarding the occurrence of the accident, Tanal said, “According to the information we received, the train to leave Malatya broke down. The dispatcher takes the train waiting in Battalgazi in line in case the breakdown takes a long time. Since the train documents that fix the fault early are also ready, they are on their way unannounced. The train allowed by the dispatcher is coming from Battalgazi direction. Both trains are unaware of each other. They collide head on. Normally, the dispatcher, who took the train on the opposite side, had to inform the other dispatcher. If notified, the accident would have been prevented by saying to start. Again, human error. "The most reliable means of transportation was remembered with accidents during the AK Party period."

Tanal also gave a parliamentary question regarding the catastrophic accident in which 2 personnel died and 2 people were injured.
