The Civil Aviation Office of China suspended the flights of Etihad Airways, China Eastern and SriLankan Airlines after Covid-19 was seen on their last flight.
It was determined that there were passengers with Covid-19 on the Abu Dhabi-Shanghai, Manila-Shanghai and Colombo-Shanghai flights of the mentioned airlines.
The Civil Aviation Authority reported that six passengers on Etihad Airways' 3 August EY862 flight, six passengers on China Airways' 5 Aug MU212 flight, and 7 passengers on SriLankan Airlines' Aug.866 UL23 flight tested positive for COVID-19. The decision to suspend the flights was announced on Tuesday, August 11th.
Etihad Airways and China Eastern Airlines bans will last a week from 17 August, but SriLankan Airlines flights have been suspended for four weeks. In order to prevent the further spread of the Covid-19 outbreak, the relevant department has put into practice a kind of reward and ban mechanism as of June 4. On the other hand, China's Civil Aviation Office also stated that suspended flights do not have the right to transfer the quotas given to them to other airline connections.
