Ordu Metropolitan Municipality continues its activities within the scope of Ünye Port Development Project, which will provide convenience to Black Sea countries and Turkish Republics at the point of export.
In this sense, the Metropolitan Municipality received the Hazardous Material Compliance Certificate to increase the load diversity of Ünye Port. With the received certificate, chemical tanker (liquid bulk cargo) ships are allowed to enter the Ünye Port area, which is operated by Ordu Metropolitan Municipality. Metropolitan Municipality, which has also established a Liquid Bulk Cargo Handling Facility in the port, will carry out the transfer of cargo ships here. Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, which carries out the handling of dangerous goods called Methanol, was the first port in the region to obtain a hazardous substance permit.

Stating that Ünye Port will be an exemplary port in the Black Sea with its load diversity, Aytekin Başköy, Head of the Department of Resource Development and Subsidiaries of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, said, “We have received the Hazardous Material Compliance Certificate at Ünye Port Facilities operated by our Metropolitan Municipality. With this document, Ünye Port became the only port of our region that has received a hazardous substance permit. As part of the scope of our document, we started to serve ships carrying dangerous goods in our port. It is not a problem for liquid bulk cargo ships to enter our port. The methanol hazardous material handling of our first work, Çamsan Ordu Company, was successfully carried out. After that, we will take additional additional loads related to dangerous goods to our port. Our capacity building studies are ongoing. From now on, our port will become an exemplary port in the Black Sea with its diversity of cargo. ”
