Yörsan's 56-year bankruptcy request, operating in the production of milk and dairy products in the Susurluk district of Balıkesir, was accepted.

Yörsan, who was in a difficult situation for economic reasons last year, was appointed trustee. The company, which could not survive the difficult days, filed for bankruptcy.

Yörsan's bankruptcy request was accepted at the Susurluk Civil Court of First Instance.

Company officials and representatives of the producers' unions attended the case at the Civil Court of First Instance.

56 YEARS COMPANY

Established in 1964 by Sebahattin, İzzettin and Şerafettin Yörük in Ankara under the name Yörükler Limited Company, the company first started with olive production.

The business volume of the company, which started producing cheese in 1970, began to grow with the purchase of an icehouse in Maltepe in 1975.

The factory of the company, which purchased a dairy in Susurluk in 1979, started its operations in Susurluk in 1984. Yörsan A.Ş was established on the same date.

After 1985, the first time the production of pasteurized milk and cheesemaking culture of the company that started in 1996 began to grow rapidly in Turkey with the franchise system.

While the foundations of a new factory were laid in Susurluk in 1999, this factory started service in 2002.

In 2013, 80 percent of Yörsan shares were sold to the Abraaj Capital of Dubai.

In addition to the dairy production of Yörsan, Susurluk also has a large resting facility named after itself.
