Preparation work has started for the construction of a new bridge in Misis, Adana's Yüreğir district, to remove and protect the historical Misis Bridge built on the Ceyhan River from the transportation network and to eliminate the dangerous situation arising in transportation.
HISTORICAL HERITAGE WILL BE PROTECTED AND DANGER IN TRANSPORTATION
Making a statement on the subject in Misis, Adana Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Zeydan Karalar touched on the importance of the region and the historical Misis Bridge. President Zeydan Karalar said, “Old Misis, Havraniye, New Misis; It is a very important region in terms of history. According to the legend, Lokman Hekim dropped his book-book, which also contains the formula of immortality, on the Misis Bridge. Misis Ruins are one of the important heritages of world history. The historical Misis Bridge, which is now actively used, now poses a threat to transportation and to preserve the historical heritage. It poses a risk in transportation such as Adana Taşköprü and Dam Set Bridge. For this reason, it has become necessary to make a bridge here. When high-tonnage vehicles pass over the Misis Bridge, there is trouble and danger arises. ”
CONSTRUCTION OF THE BRIDGE WILL BE STARTED WITHOUT THE CHALLENGES
Stating that the previous administration prepared a bridge project here but could not process it, President Zeydan Karalar said, “There are problems on both sides of the bridge planned to be built. Owners do not want the bridge to cross their territory. There will probably be incompatibilities. Maybe we will nationalize by court order. However, despite all the difficulties, we are determined to start the bridge construction in this period. We will save both the historical Misis Bridge and the Misis Region. ”
