ATMACA will be used instead of US-based Harpoon missiles used as surface-to-surface missile systems. ATMACA cruise missiles are produced locally by Roketsan, fire control systems and other equipment ASELSAN. ATMACAs will be integrated into MİLGEMs and will further increase our deterrence in the seas.

As in SOM missile, development work of the ATMACA Missile powered by Micro Turbo product TR40 Turbojet Engine has been completed in Roketsan main contractor. In the project, domestic companies and institutions take part with the systems of Aselsan (RF seeker header) and ArMerKom (fire control system and operator console prototypes).

ATMACA Missile, which can be used in all weather conditions, is effective against inactive and moving targets with its resistance to countermeasures, target update, retargeting, task termination capacity and advanced mission planning system (3D routing). ATMACA, just like the TÜBİTAK-SAGE cruise missile SOM, when approaching the target, reaches a higher altitude and dives to the target ship from the top.

ATMACA has Global Positioning System, Inertial Measurement Unit, Barometric Altimeter, Radar Altimeter capabilities and finds its target with active accuracy radar scanner. Hawk missile, 350 mm in diameter. It has a wingspan of 1,4 meters. Atmaca 220+ km range and high explosive particle equivalent to 88 kg TNT threaten its target beyond the observation line with its effective warhead cap capacity. Data link capability provides ATMACA with target update, re-attack and task termination features.
