Erdogan, the official opening of Kartal Dr. Stating that Lütfi Kırdar City Hospital is one of the biggest hospitals in Istanbul, he said that the hospital, which was put into service as a 1987-bed state hospital in 150, became insufficient in time.

Erdogan also stated that the old hospital was determined to be earthquake-resistant, and that they decided to build a high-tech, high-bed capacity and strong health facility in the scope of the Istanbul Seismic Risk Reduction Project.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan continued his speech as follows: “With an investment of 618 million liras, we have brought this magnificent work to our district and Istanbul with its parking lot, conference hall, green space and other features, consisting of 302 blocks with 5 thousand square meters of indoor space. Our hospital has a capacity of 145 beds, 1105 of which are intensive care units. With 855 insulators on the hospital building floor, it has become one of the most earthquake-prepared and durable facilities in Istanbul.
In our hospital, which is one of the pioneers of its field with its equipment and infrastructure, we plan to have 3,5 million patients on an outpatient basis and 150 thousand patients on inpatient treatment. Here, we anticipate 100 thousand surgeries per year, especially cancer surgery. We will further expand our hospital with the 150-bed oncology hospital we will build. Thus, we will increase the bed capacity to 1250 and the number of outpatient clinics to 250. ”
“We have not turned any of our citizens under threat of epidemic through the hospital door”

Dr. Pointing out that Lütfi Kırdar City Hospital is one of the facilities that are put into service as a pandemic hospital, Koca said, “Our biggest consolation in this regard is that there is no loss of life from our healthcare personnel in this institution. On this occasion, I am grateful to our healthcare staff, especially our teachers, who lost their duties at the beginning, ”he said.
