İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, which determines the priority of İzmir in tourism as a safety and hygiene in addition to historical and cultural values, continues its activities in Blue Flag and Orange Circle simultaneously. One of the five public beaches that are entitled to receive the Blue Flag in İzmir this year, the Blue Flag will be sent to Çeşme Ilıca Beach with a ceremony tomorrow. Ilıca Beach Cafe on the beach was included in the Orange Circle by fulfilling the hygiene criteria.
The Ilıca Beach Cafe, run by Cestur, a subsidiary of Cesme Municipality, has been awarded the Orange Circle certificate as a result of the review team created by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and Cesme Municipality. Seyir Cafe, Kale Cafe, Meydan Cafe, Tekke Restaurant and Şifne Thermal Hotel belonging to Çeştur were also included in the Orange Circle after evaluations. Metropolitan Municipality aims to expand its double certificate studies to meet health and safety criteria both on the beaches and in cafes and restaurants inside.
Blue in Izmir Bayraklı public beaches are increasing
The Blue Flag Coordination Unit, which was established in November 2019 within the body of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, started to work. As a result of the coordination efforts carried out by the unit, new blue flag beaches were established and the number of blue flag beaches with international guarantee rose to 52 in İzmir. The five public beaches that will serve as blue flags for the first time this year are: Çeşme - Ilıca Public Beach, Güzelbahçe - II. Liman Public Beach, Urla - Blue Beach, Urla - TCDD Urla Education and Recreation Facilities and Urla - Çamlıçay Public Beach.
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality pioneered the formation of the Tourism Hygiene Board in order to continue its tourism activities in a healthy manner during the global epidemic; To further increase the number of blue flag beaches in the city, the people of Turkey for the first time in November 2019 had established the Blue Flag Coordination Unit.
