The company, which has IATF 16949, which covers the international technical requirements of the automotive industry, and ISO TS 22163 (IRIS) International Railway Industry Standard Management System certificates, which ensures quality and reliability in the railway industry, cooperates with suppliers and universities with global production techniques that supply products to the automotive, defense industry and railway sectors. Stating that they are in close cooperation, the statement said, “Within the scope of our recent efforts to develop new products, our bar and coil rolling mill with a production capacity of 831 tons / year has successfully produced quality steels used in the production of fasteners in the automotive industry. The quality steel used by the industry in the production of suspension springs and our high carbon steel productions have been presented to the commercial market ”.
In the statement that one of the most important goals of the company, which is a member of SAHA Istanbul, which operates to contribute to the development of the defense, aviation and space sector and to create a global competitive advantage with sectoral specialization by increasing the share of domestic production in this field, is the production of steels used in the defense industry with strategic importance. Our company, which develops cooperation with the Defense Industry Presidency and all representatives of the sector in this context, has produced the quality steels used in the production of various wear-resistant parts in the sector, and presented to the market in coil form. Our aim is to contribute to national survival as the first integrated iron and steel factory of our country and to serve to increase the nationalization rates reaching 70 percent in the defense industry.
In the statement, which emphasized that the factory started production of BA318 type railway wheels in November 2019 and realized its first export to Europe as well as domestic sales, the following statements were made.
To contribute 150 million Euros in target exports
“Our company will produce 120 thousand railway wheels per year, including 40 thousand freight trains, 20 thousand passenger trains, 20 thousand locomotives and 200 thousand light rail system wheels. The Middle East and North African countries, especially European countries such as Germany, Austria, Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria and France, are among our target markets where most of our wheel production capacity will be exported. In the first plan, it is aimed to prevent the import of railway wheels with an annual average value of 10 thousand and approximately 8 million euros and to contribute to the exports of our country at full capacity with an annual value of about 150 million euros. Our BA004 type railway wheel production works are continuing. In our rod coil production facilities, we successfully produced 38Sİ7 quality coils, which are suitable for the production of rail clips used by the railway industry and connecting the rails with concrete sleepers, and mass production has started.
