This morning, the Hendek district of Sakarya was shaken by the explosion heard from many points of the city. In the fireworks factory in the district, an explosion occurred while 150-200 employees were inside. Firefighters dispatched at the scene sometimes find it difficult to intervene in flames due to repeated eruptions, and anxious wait in the region continues. According to the first information; 3 people were injured in the explosion, 41 of which were heavy.
At the fireworks factory located in Yukarı Çalıca, Hendek district, a huge explosion occurred at around 11.30. With the explosion heard from neighboring province Düzce as well as Sakarya, smoke rose to the sky.
Fireworks began to burst in the sky. The windows of some buildings near the factory were broken due to the explosion. Those living in the surrounding houses experienced great fear.
Many firefighters and ambulances were dispatched to the area. The security forces who took precautions in the area removed those around. Fireworks continued to explode at the factory during the firefighters' intervention. It was seen that the doors and roofs of the factory buildings were flying due to the explosion.
3 HEAVY 41 INJURED
According to the first information, 41 people were injured in the explosion. 3 of the injured brought to the Hendek State Hospital Emergency Department were taken to the hospitals in Sakarya center due to their severe condition.

According to the information we received from the factory owner, there are approximately 150-200 people inside. ”

EXPLANATION FROM AFAD
The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) announced that the fire response efforts that followed after the explosion continued.
In the written statement made by AFAD, AFAD, 112, Firefighters and Gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the region immediately after the explosion in a fireworks factory in Hendek district of Sakarya and fire response efforts are continuing.
THREE EXPLOSIONS RECORDED IN EARTHQUAKE DEVICES
According to the earthquake recording devices of AFAD's Hendek region, three explosions were recorded at 11:05 and 11:15, the first explosion at 11:18.
THIRD TIME EXPLOSED IN 11 YEARS
An explosion occurred in the same factory in 2009 and 2014.
In the first explosion, 1 person died and 37 were injured. In the explosion in 2014, 1 person died and 2 people were injured.
