22 people were killed in an accident that occurred when Pakistan's train hit an uncontrolled level crossing in East Punjab province on a bus carrying Sikh pilgrims. At least six pilgrims were injured.

A train from Karachi to Lahore hit the passenger bus in the Sheikhupura district of Pakistan's Punjab province. In a statement made by Sheikhupura police, it was reported that the passenger bus carried Sikh pilgrims and 22 pilgrims died. Authorities reported that in Lahore, the capital of Punjab province, two seriously wounded people who were taken to a hospital died and the death rate increased to 22. It was stated that the inhabitants of the accident had made the first intervention, while the rescuers at the scene had ended.

Sikh pilgrims were in northwest Peshawar city and returned home after visiting the Nankana Sahib temple in Sheikhupura.
