As it is known, the principles of inspection and stamping of the Tachograph Devices Inspection and Stamping Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 12/1/2012 and the correct adjustment of the tachograph devices have been regulated. In the same regulation, the use of digital tachographs has been made compulsory in new registered vehicles since 2014, and the process of replacing analog and electronic tachographs with digital tachographs has been created according to the calendar below.

  • a) 1996-1998 model vehicles until 30/6/2016.
  • b) 1999-2001 model vehicles until 31/12/2016.
  • c) 2002-2004 model vehicles until 31/12/2017.
  • ç) 2005-2007 model vehicles until 31/12/2018.
  • d) Model vehicles from 2008 onwards, until 10/07/2020.

However, due to the high number of vehicles at the last stage of the transformation process, which should be completed by 10/7/2020, the density that may occur in the authorized services due to the change being left to the last days, and the COVID-19 epidemic, the exchange process was reconsidered, necessary consultations were made with the relevant Ministries, and The d clause that determines the date for the last tier vehicles in the calendar has been revised as follows with a regulation amendment made on 4/7/2020.

  • d) Model vehicles from 2008 onwards, before the first vehicle inspection after 1/10/2020.

According to this amendment, for the obligation to switch to digital tachographs of 2008 and later model vehicles, a period has been granted until the first vehicle inspection date after 1/10/2020 for each vehicle, and the vehicles covered should be converted to digital tachograph until this date.

It is announced to the public that the information given to the contrary is not respected and that the statements made by our Ministry are taken into consideration.
