
The tender was launched to install a face recognition system on the Moscow metro's wagons. According to the information in the official tender portal, the budget allocated for the system is 1,4 billion rubles ($ 20 million). In the related statement, the purpose of the tender is defined as “increasing the safety of the passengers”.
The number of wagons serving in the Moscow subway is 5 thousand 956. 1538 of these wagons are planned to be placed with a total of 12 thousand 304 camera facial systems consisting of eight cameras.
The company that will win the tender will be obliged to make the system ready for use within 180 business days.
