Mayor of Ankara Kalecik district, Duhan Kalkan, stated that Continuous Allocated Airspace will be opened in the district for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and drone test flights.

According to the news in Hürriyet; “Kalecik Mayor Duhan Kalkan said in his statement that Test and Evaluation A.Ş. (TRTEST) and Teknopark Ankara said that they will open a Continuous Allocated Airspace for UAV and drone test flights. Stating that they aim to complete the work in the field within 15-20 days, Mayor Kalkan stated that they aim to meet the test needs of the defense and aviation sector with the project.

President Kalkan said, “It is very important to us. Turkish unmanned aerial vehicles have made their mark on the world agenda in recent years. Domestic and national industry is advancing to a better point. As Kalecik Municipality, we are in a project related to unmanned aerial vehicles with Tekno Park Ankara, TRTEST. The beginning of the project is Continuous Airspace Allocation. It was approved by our Presidency. An airspace covering approximately 50 kilometers from Kalecik to Çankırı was allocated for this project. ”

'THE FIRST STAGE WILL COME SOON'

Stating that the project has 2 stages, Mayor Kalkan said, “In the first stage, a facility will be built on an area of ​​2,5 decares. In this facility, users can easily use the airspace. Technology companies, public institutions of our state or individual citizens will be able to benefit from it. "The first stage will be completed soon and the second stage will be completed with the support of our state."
