Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu gave an interview to TRT News Television in Muş before the opening of Botan Çay Begendik Bridge, where President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will attend by video conference. Stating that the Begendik Bridge will make very important contributions to the region, Minister Karaismailoğlu also said that many projects as valuable as the Begendik Bridge will be offered to the citizens as soon as possible. Drawing attention to the importance of railway investments in terms of both passenger transportation and logistics, Karaismailoğlu said that very valuable projects that will bring industrial areas together with the sea continue.
In an interview with TRT Haber, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu in Muş made evaluations about the opening of Begendik Bridge and other ongoing projects in the region. Stating that the opening will take place with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Minister Karaismailoğlu underlined that Botan River Begendik Bridge will have important contributions to the region. Minister Karaismailoğlu: "We have very important investments in the region. Only one of them is Botan Stream Begend Bridge. Turkey is one of the first in the area; It is a very important bridge with its 210 meters middle span and 450 meters in total. Turkey's highest bridge in terms of the height of 165 meters. In other words, it was previously a region where transportation was provided in very difficult conditions, transportation in very bad environments and roads were closed in the rise of Botan Stream. A project that will add a significant value to the region with its 70 kilometers of connection roads along with the bridge. Hopefully tomorrow, our citizens will give the good news of opening this bridge with the participation of our President. In other words, with the construction of the bridge, there will be a huge movement in the region and border trade will develop. Significant mobility of Bitlis, Siirt, Hakkari, Van and Şırnak will increase. Thanks to this, employment, mobility, trade and tourism are the most important in the region. It is very important, there are many beauties in the region, they will be revealed, access to them will increase. We are waiting for tomorrow with joy, we are happy to bring a very valuable project to our country. ”
Minister Karaismailoğlu pointed out the peace in the region and said, “The efforts of our security forces are tremendous. Our transportation and infrastructure projects make great contributions to the peace and trust in the region, though not as much. Because as the employment, production, trade and agriculture increase in the region, the peace increases, and the living standards of our people increase, so our projects are very important. All the projects we do have very positive and economic values. There are many valuable projects in the region.
Today we are in Muş, we are evaluating our projects in Muş together with our local willers here. ” said. Emphasizing that plans are being made and intense efforts are made for the completion of other ongoing projects as soon as possible, Karaismailoğlu said that they will complete the projects and serve them to the citizens in coordination with local administrators and managers there. Noting that the Begendik Bridge is a very important project, on the other hand, there are similar valuable projects in the region, Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that it will be completed in these projects in the coming days and will provide added value to both our country and the region.
18 Billion TL to Transportation and Infrastructure in 880 Years
Stating that transportation and infrastructure and communication sub-investments have reached 18 billion TL in the last 880 years, Minister Karaismailoğlu said: “From now on, we will focus on the railway a little more, because the logistics is also very important in terms of logistics. As you know, our country met high speed trains a few years ago under the leadership of our President. And our citizen, who feels the comfort of the high-speed train and travel confidence, does not leave him anymore. There are 200 kilometers of high-speed train lines in our country. I hope we are doing all our work in line with the goal of increasing this to 5 kilometers as soon as possible. ''
Industrial Zones Will Meet The Sea
Pointing out that there are very valuable railroad projects that will bring industrial areas together with the sea, Karaismailoğlu said:
“Let me tell you some of our first projects; Mersin, Adana, Osmaniye, Gaziantep. By 2023, we will complete the 400-kilometer line as a high-speed train line. This is a very important project not only for carrying passengers, but also for logistics. We will bring the industrial areas together with the sea, a very valuable project in terms of logistics. Again, we will connect Bursa to Ankara-Istanbul high speed train line. Infrastructure studies about it continue. We continue to make the superstructure tender and hopefully continue in line with the 2023 target. Again, Ankara-İzmir is 500 kilometers and infrastructure works continue here. Raising to 2023 continues in line with its goal. We will put Ankara-Sivas into service later this year. We had a high-speed train up to Konya, we will complete Konya-Karaman again this year. We will connect Konya, Ulukışla, Yenice and Mersin. In other words, we will meet Ankara and Istanbul with the Mediterranean. In the coming days, we will have high-speed train lines from Gaziantep to Istanbul, even Kapıkule, to the border gate. An important part of our country will meet high-speed train lines. ”
Samsun-Sivas Kalın Railway has been renewed
Karaismailoğlu said that they attach great importance to railways because of their logistical contributions.
Explaining that the Samsun-Sivas-Kalın line has been renewed and will open soon, Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “It was built in 1930. We dismantled all its rails, made it signaled, increased its capacity to three floors. This line also meets the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars line. Nowadays, freight transfer from China to Europe through our country, logistics transfer is continuing at the moment. Of course, we had finished Marmaray, and Marmaray is now trading in the middle of the world, in the middle of Asia and Europe, like a lifeline.
