Konya Metropolitan Municipality started the construction of a pedestrian overpass to the point where Istanbul Road and Zafer Industry intersect in order to ensure uninterrupted traffic flow for vehicles and life safety for pedestrians. Pedestrian overpass, which will have an icing and frost thawing system on the decks and steps with escalators, elevators, will cost 4 million 300 thousand liras.
Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that they have made arrangements throughout the city to accelerate the traffic flow, and on the other hand, they continued to make pedestrian overpasses to ensure the safety of pedestrians to the regions that are needed.
At the intersection of Istanbul Road Zafer Sanayii, which is one of the streets with the highest traffic flow in the city, Mayor Altay stated that the traffic safety of the vehicles using the level crossing was calculated by considering the excessive vehicle density, cruise time and the safety of the vehicles working at idle, and the traffic lights were removed after the completion of the overpass. He said that uninterrupted traffic flow will be provided.
Mayor Altay stated that the pedestrian overpass with steel construction, escalators, disabled elevator, icing and frost thawing system on the decks and steps will cost 4 million 300 thousand liras.
