Environment and Urbanization Minister Murat Kurum announced the names of the thermal power plants that were granted a one-year temporary working license.

Pointing out that, according to the examinations made in the switched plants, the operators have compulsorily installed flue gas filters, flue gas purification and continuous emission measurement systems, the Authority said:

“The work continues in the rest of the power plants. Completing its environmental investments amounting to approximately 142 million Turkish Liras, it has 6 out of 4 units of Soma Thermal Power Plant, 2 units of Kangal Thermal Power Plant closed, 2 units of Çatalağzı Thermal Power Plant closed, 4 of 2 units of Seyitömer Thermal Power Plant, 3 year temporary working license was given to 2 out of 4 units of Tunçbilek Thermal Power Plant and 2 out of 1 units of Afşin A Thermal Power Plant. These units and chimneys have been made compliant with the legislation. ”

Emphasizing that the facilities, which have been granted a temporary activity certificate, will constantly monitor the emission value in their chimneys over the internet, he said:

“We have also received programs regarding the ongoing investments of these plants. We will be followers of these programs. In case we do not encounter any negativity, we will also give Environmental Permits to our power plants operated in accordance with the legislation. If the limit values ​​in the legislation are exceeded, I would like to announce that we will apply all administrative sanctions, including closure, with determination as we did on January 1st. ”

Stating that they held consultations for the solution of the city's problems in the meeting they held in Manisa, the Authority said that in January, the earthquake victims of Kırkağaç and Akhisar suffered the wounds of citizens who suffered severe damage, and the construction of permanent residences for earthquake survivors continued.

The institution added that its ministries have invested 18 billion lira in Manisa in 32 years, and that there are ongoing investments worth 518 million lira.
