Edirnekapı Station Overpass located on the Metrobus line is being renewed due to its inability to meet the density and the accessibility of the disabled. The new overpass work, which is under construction, is planned to be completed in October.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Directorate of Science Affairs and Survey Plan Project Department is building a new overpass 100 meters ahead of Edirnekapi Overpass in the direction of Ayvansaray, connected to Edirnekapı Metrobus Station. Disabled ramps will also be prepared for the connection to the overpasses inside the metrobus.

Within the scope of the study, the barriers in the metrobus line were cut and one lane in both directions on the E-5 road was reserved for the metrobus line. During the working period, the station will continue to operate with 3 vehicles.

In order to reduce congestion due to both the shrinking of the station and the connection of the metrobus route to the E-5, the staff at the station will make the necessary directions and alert the drivers.

The road will be opened to traffic by working day and night for 45 days. With the new overpass that will be put into service in October, it is aimed to take the metrobus density and provide disabled access.

44 of the stations on the metrobus line with 33 stations have elevators or ramps to facilitate disabled access. In Mecidiyeköy and 15 July Martyrs Bridge stations, studies are being carried out on measures that will make disabled access easier with additional elevators and ramps. Plans are still ongoing to carry out work on 11 stations without elevators or ramps.
