Minister Karaismailoğlu, emphasizing that the tugboats, the first source of which will be sourced today, will support the efforts to ensure life and property safety at the highest level by following the sea traffic, which is one of the main activities of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
“We have established ship tracking and control systems in order to increase the safety of navigation, life, property and environment and maritime security on our coasts. In addition, the Vessel Traffic Management System (GTYS), consisting of the components of the Vessel Traffic Management Center (GTYM) established in Ankara, was established on May 14, 2019. On the other hand, the Long Distance Identification and Monitoring (LRIT) System of Ships was established in 2009 and all ships coming to our ports are controlled from a distance of 1000 nautical miles. With this system, wherever in the world, Turkish bayraklı Tracking of ships is provided. Vessels navigating within the Turkish Search and Rescue Area are monitored instantly with the National Automatic Identification System (OTS) in Ankara. The National Maritime Safety and Emergency Response Center, which we established by our Ministry in Tekirdağ in 2019, is also working successfully. "
