Applications for the aid of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to the projects of private theaters in the 2020-2021 art season will begin on July 1.

Applications received online through the e-government system will continue until July 31.

The ministry will continue increasing the support of those in the 'traditional' category with an artist identification card issued for intangible cultural heritage carriers.

By increasing the amount of support and upper limits of private theaters, meeting the viewers with more qualified plays will increase the economic and social rights of the employees and increase the payments made to the right holders such as royalty.

Supports Increased with Changing Regulation

Some arrangements were made in the “Regulation on Aids to be Made for the Projects of Private Theaters” in May, considering the conditions of the day and the demands from the sector.

With the arrangements made, private theaters were encouraged to institutionalize and professionalize, and insured employment was made an assessment criterion. With the amendment in which the rights of the sector employees were brought to the fore, the aid dates were planned to be announced before the art season started. In addition, the upper limits of the aid amounts in the regulation were doubled and the upper limit of the aid rates was increased to 70 percent.
