Ankara Metropolitan Municipality EGO General Directorate has re-opened the use of free cards in public transportation vehicles of citizens aged 65 and over who have been suspended during the coronavirus outbreak. With the start of the normalization process, citizens aged 65 and over living in the Capital City will be able to use public transportation vehicles free of charge between 10.00-20.00, where the curfew is lifted every day.

While Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continued its struggle to protect public health within the scope of the coronavirus epidemic, it started to update its applications with the normalization process.

The EGO General Directorate has reopened the free card usage of citizens aged 21 and over, which had been closed for precautionary use since March 65, during the epidemic process.

According to the data of EGO General Directorate, in Ankara, where 416 thousand 303 people are registered to the system, while citizens aged 65 and over have a monthly average of 200 thousand free cards before the pandemic, citizens aged 65 and over, with the new regulation, only 10.00 every day the curfew restriction is lifted. It will be able to use public transportation vehicles free of charge between 20.00 hours.

Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş said that with the announcement he made on his social media accounts, citizens aged 65 and over can use their free cards during this time interval.
