40 of the workers working at the railway construction site of Eti Bakır in Mazıdağı, owned by Cengiz Holding, were caught by Kovid-19.

40 of the workers working in the Diyarbakır-Mazıdağı railway construction of the Eti Bakır Metal Recycling and Integrated Fertilizer Factory of Cengiz Holding, located in the Mazıdağı district of Mardin, were caught in Kovid-19 in the last week. It was stated that the workers whose test results were positive were treated in public hospitals in Mardin, Mazıdağı and Derik.

It was learned that despite the detection of viruses in 40 workers, hundreds of other workers working at the construction site continue to work, and workers are not allowed to go home as a “measure”. It was stated that the workers were forced to sleep on the construction site and those who wanted to go to their homes were threatened with dismissal.

Speaking to the Mesopotamian Agency (MA), workers said that interruption and action should be taken in the face of a growing epidemic threat. The workers stated that although there is a risk of epidemic, they could not make a sound due to the unemployment threat.

Despite the threat of the epidemic, workers who were forced to work in the same construction site took action last May, and 118 employees were dismissed on the grounds that they were involved in the action. (Mardin / ME)
