The United States really merged when a sledgehammer hit a gold blow at the Promontory ground ceremony in Utah on May 10, 1869, to complete the first transcontinental railroad.
The Central Pacific railroad building in the east of California, whose construction lasted more than seven years, and the Union Pacific railroad building in the west of Nebraska, and the intercontinental railway have reduced the months-long 5000 km road to a week. The transcontinental rail has contributed to the rapid advancement of the United States to the west, preventing the rise of the Wild West, causing it to fight native American tribes living in this land. It also made it economically feasible to extract the abundant resources in the West and move them to markets in the East.
