The Trans-Siberian Railway, which went through a dangerous line of 10.000 km, was completed in 1916, it was the longest and most expensive railway ever built.
The Trans-Siberian Railway reduced the road, which took months from Moscow to Vladivostok, to eight days, allowing state control in the largest country in the world. The need for a lot of money for the project caused the Russian army, which contributed to the Russian Revolution in 1917, to be economically inadequate and unarmed during the First World War. Communists used the railway to strengthen power during the civil war following the Russian Revolution and to take new soldiers to the battlefield during World War II. The railroad created eastward migration, allowing coal, timber and other raw materials to be transported from Siberia to major Russian cities.
