Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Pakdemirli Bakr said Turkey's largest agricultural enterprises in the Sanliurfa Ceylanpınar State Farm has announced that it will introduce 60 thousand hectares of the investment is completed with water and the opening will be held on Friday, May 22, 2020.
Emphasizing that the TİGEM-Ceylanpınar Irrigation Project, which is carried out by the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works, was implemented with an investment cost of approximately 70 million liras, Minister Pakdemirli stated that the risk of low production will disappear in the field where dry farming is carried out in the enterprise.

Modern irrigation methods will be used to achieve higher efficiency for sustainable agriculture and food safety. Minister Pakdemirli said, “We use water, which is indispensable for increase in production, more economically with modern irrigation systems. At Ceylanpınar Agricultural Enterprise, we water the land with modern systems equipped with the most advanced technologies. We are bringing thousands of acres of land into the water just by pressing a button. ”
TURKEY IS NOT A COUNTRY RICH WATER

“In these lands, fallow system will be removed, plant diversity will increase thanks to the second crop cultivation, and yield and quality will increase. Grain yield will increase from 250 kg / decare to 500 kg / decare and the quality will increase. An additional 25 million TL will be generated each year. With the second product plantings, this income will increase to 70 million TL. Thus, 4 times more contribution will be made to the country's economy. Moreover, more employment will be provided and energy consumption will decrease due to channel irrigation. Production costs will decrease. Groundwater usage rate will decrease ”

Expressing that 2008 thousand decares of land were irrigated in Ceylanpınar Agricultural Enterprise in 108, Pakdemirli said, “As of 2019, we increased the size of the irrigated area to 613 thousand decares. With this project we have opened, this area has increased to 2020 thousand decares by 673. Our goal is to bring 2023 thousand decares of land together with water until 150 and to provide irrigation of 820 thousand decares of land on the operating land ”.
INVESTMENTS OF 18 MILLION LIRAS IN 800 YEARS
Minister Pakdemirli added that 2002 million TL was invested in Ceylanpınar Agricultural Enterprise from 2019 to 721 in terms of irrigation, animal husbandry, mechanization and agricultural facilities, and the investment made in the last 80 years exceeded 18 million TL with the 800 million TL investment to be made this year.
