Minister Selçuk: 'We are Preparing the National Consultancy Document for Family Counseling'; Family, Labor and Social Services Minister Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk announced that they will introduce a system in which the National Competence Document will be mandatory for family counseling.

Stating that they have organized a workshop with the participation of academicians, professional staff, associations related to the subject and representatives of Private Family Counseling Centers opened with the permission of the Ministry, within the scope of the efforts to prepare the National Competence Criteria of Family Counseling; “We are preparing the national qualification document for the family counseling profession. Upon completion of the preparations for the national qualification document, the necessary knowledge, skills and competencies will be determined for the family counselor to successfully perform his profession. A standard of service will be introduced to this profession. There will also be an exam system for family counselors to do this profession and get a certificate. We will also do the accreditation of educational institutions that provide Family Counseling. ” he spoke.

Stating that a cooperation protocol has been signed between the Vocational Qualifications Authority (VQA) and the General Directorate of Family and Community Services, Minister Selçuk said: stated that the family counselors have the knowledge, skills and competence they should have.

Selcuk; “After evaluating the Family Counseling National Competency Draft with our stakeholders, VQA will examine it technically and the Family Counseling National Competence Certificate will take its final form.” he spoke.
